This Is What Happens to Your Body During a Breakup [WATCH VIDEO]

Heartbreak is one of the worst things that can happen to an individual, and it really hurts. One can never really figure out from where all that pain comes from. It feels like you are suffocated; there is not much air to breathe. You wallow in a pain that is more than you can bear. Nothing can be worse than that.

The video below simplifies the body and mental procedures that one goes through during a breakup.

“If you’re going through a breakup, your heartbreak may feel like physical pain and you’re probably right. The sensation of heartbreak might be a result of your body’s instinct to simultaneously speed up and slow down your heartbeat,” as explained on the video. Moreover, heartbroken people were shown pictures of their exes, and the FMRI revealed that the sadness these people felt while looking at the photos induced the activity in the part of the brain that also registers physical pain. This is because emotional and physical pain share neuro pathways in the brain.

Watch the video to completely understand one’s physical and emotional pangs while a person undergoes that painful break up with his or her ex.
