‘Thor 3: Ragnarok’: Kevin Feige Addresses Rumors Concerning the Film

Marvel it seems is moving faster than expected when it comes to their phase 3. The phase that has an impressive line up of movies planned promises to deliver one entertainer after another. “Thor 3: Ragnarok”, which is currently the most talked about movie in the phase, also has had it’s share of rumors surrounding it. With speculations from who the antagonist will be or what story line will the movie be following, theories came flowing in from everywhere. The latest rumor about the film was that the studio was planning to bring Kenneth Branagh, director of “Thor” for this movie as well. However, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has something to say.

According to Collider, who had a word with Mr. Feige got to know quite a few details about the movie from him. First of all the upcoming movie “Captain America: Civil War” will not see Thor entering the battle between the two titans as it was suspected earlier. This means that Thor’s next outing would clearly be “Thor 3: Ragnarok” in 2017 where he will have his own set of problems to deal with. With Thor not entering the Civil War, one can be assured that the God of Thunder will not have to worry about taking sides or smashing anyone with Mjolnir. Secondly for Thor’s latest installment, Mr. Feige said they will be announcing a writer and a director soon.

There are chances that the same person will be writing as well as directing the movie or the studio could simply choose to hire two different people for the respective jobs. If they were to hire the same person for “Thor 3: Ragnarok” then James Gunn is probably the only writer-director Marvel has at their disposal. Since Mr. Gunn did a wonderful job with “Guardians of the Galaxy”, he could maybe lend a creative hand for Thor’s movie as well. But that would be it difficult since “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” will also be releasing in the same year just about 5 months before “Thor 3: Ragnarok”. As far as enlisting Mr. Branagh’s services to helm the third installment of Thor proved to be false since Mr. Feige himself does not know where did the rumors come from.

For the time being, the studio is moving at a rapid pace to get everything in order and fans can expect an announcement soon.
