‘Thor: Ragnarok’ Update: Either Jane Foster Or Lady Sif Will Become The Next Female Thor
It seems like rumors out there are contradicting each other. With each passing day, one rumor gains more credibility over the other. If one rumor states that Thor will be passing on his power to someone else then other rumor suggests that Thor will continue as the God of Thunder. This time around it’s the former rumor that is revealing more details about the upcoming movie.
According to Venture Capital Post, details about the writer and director of the movie continues to remain unknown, however, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige recently mentioned that an announcement will be made very soon. More important updates come in the form of plot, which to an extent are confirmed.
If reports are to be believed then Thor will indeed give up his powers to someone else. This someone else is being hinted as the official introduction of Female Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. For all those who are aware, Jane Foster was revealed as the Female Thor as she looked like a demigoddess in the comic series.
Considering the fact that comic books are usually used as first point of reference in initial stages, there are high chances Marvel Cinematic Universe will go ahead with introducing a Female version of the God of Thunder. Since, the “Avengers” will also be going through a significant amount of change till the time the Mad Titan Thanos attacks Earth as a part of his ambition of becoming the Universe’s ruler, it might not hurt to see new changes being implemented. But one should expect a little twist in the movie and that comes in the form of Jane Foster not being the only contender for the role of Female Thor.
It is widely being speculated that Lady Sif is another choice for Female Thor. Weighing in on both the contenders, Jane on one hand is a genius physicist and Lady Sif on other hand is a warrior who has been the most loyal associate Thor has to his disposal. Given Lady Sif’s warrior background and worthiness of being a true noble spirit, Thor could choose loyalty and nobility over love.
Having fought so many battles together, Lady Sif has never even thought twice before shedding blood on the battlefield for the God of Thunder. Given that, she could certainly be deemed worthy of wielding the Mjolnir. Until now only Odin, Thor and Vision have been deemed worthy of lifting the God of Thunder’s indestructible hammer and Lady Sif could very well become the next. Besides that, Jaimie Alexander who plays the role of Lady Sif also hinted that she has a bigger role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Whether this role ends up in the form of Female Thor remains to be seen.
“Thor: Ragnarok” will release on November 3rd, 2017.
