‘Three Generations’ Movie: Elle Fanning Plays Transgender Teenage Character
Elle Fanning plays a transgender teen character in “Three Generations” with Naomi Watts and Susan Sarandon. The Weinstein Company has declared an awards-season release date of September 18 for the transgender drama.
Elle Fanning plays a New York teenager seeking to transition from female to male, Naomi Watts acts as her mother character and Susan Sarandon acts as her lesbian grandmother in the transgender drama “Three Generations,” says SBS report.
“TWC won the bidding at the Cannes Film Festival last month after buyers were shown a promo reel of the project, directed by Gaby Dellal from Nikole Beckwith’s script. TWC paid $6 million for U.S. rights with a minimum 500-screen commitment,” said the source.
The producers of the film are Big Beach’s Marc Turtletaub & Peter Saraf, along with Dorothy Berwin, and Big Beach also financed for this film, according to reports from Variety.
According to Mail Online, “Elle kicked off her career in Hollywood as a toddler, playing the younger versions of her now 21-year-old sister, Dakota, who also was a child actress. But even with a busy career in acting, Elle insists she hasn’t missed out on the high school years.”
“Elle is currently lending her voice to the 2016 movie, Ballerina, which is set in 1879 Paris, alongside Dane DeHaan. She also stars opposite Christina Hendricks in the upcoming horror thriller The Neon Demon,” said the source.
The source while previously reporting about “Three Generations” said that, “it looked as if her skills came in handy while bolting from Watts, who takes on the role of her distressed mother dealing with her daughter’s gender transition.”
