All of these took a toll on her acting career. Nothing much changed since then. During the ’70s, she wrote an autobiography and used all the money she had into making a low-budget horror flick. It proved to be an utter failure, leaving Lake distraught. She died of kidney failure at the age of 50 since she did not have any money left for her treatment.
She was once called the “most beautiful girl in Europe.” She rose to fame with her role in the film “Ecstasy.” Lamarr did full-frontal nudity in the film, which was pretty controversial during those days. She starred in a lot of film throughout the 40s and 50s. She married and divorced six times, taking away a huge amount of her fortune she accumulated overtime. Lamarr died in 2000, 86 years old, because of natural causes, and she was completely penniless.
She was an American actress about whom Fred Astaire once said to be “the greatest entertainer who ever lived.” She is best known for her role as Dorothy in “The Wizard of Oz.” She was a very successful entertainer for over 40 years, but even then she was financially unstable. This was prominently because of the fact that she was married five times and had four divorces. In addition, she had a huge battle with drugs and alcohol — all these factors took away a huge sum out of her earnings and put her into a debt she was never able to get out of in her lifetime. At the time of her death, at the young age of 47 years, she had debts amounting to $4 million.
