Tiger Woods Faces The Cameras Days After Announcing The End Of His Relationship With Lindsay Vonn
Tiger Woods faced the camera for the first time after announcing the end of his relationship with Lindsey Vonn on Tuesday. Woods was also seen practicing for an upcoming THE PLAYERS Championship. Undeniably, the professional golfer looked glum during the post round press con.
Tiger Woods told reporters that he has been upset and was unable to sleep. He also added that this was not just about an ended relationship with Vonn, but also because the week is the death anniversary of his father who died in 2006, according to Mail Online.
Woods and Vonn have been dating for more than three years before they both announced the end of their relationship.
The golfer said that the breakup has affected him in very obvious ways. He also added that it is undoubtedly tough for him and that he would lie if he says it’s not. Furthermore he said that this was a very difficult time of the year for him and that he hasn’t sleep for three days.
In the press conference, Tiger Woods said “I haven’t slept. These three days, May 3rd and through the 5th, today, are just brutal on me. Obviously with what happened on Sunday, it just adds to it.”
Earlier this week, Tiger Woods and Olympic skier Lindsay Vonn released statements confirming the end of their relationship. Woods said that he greatly admired, respect and love the skier and that he would always cherish the time they spent together. However, he said that their hectic schedules as professional athletes did not permit them to spend enough time with each other. Woods also commended how wonderful Vonn was to his children from his previous marriage with Elin Nordegren.
Woods was also asked if the emotional turmoil he is currently undergoing could affect his performance during the tournament, to which he replied that he has things under control and that “once you’re inside the ropes it’s time to tee it up and time to play”.
