Tommy Lee Jones Joins Kevin Costner and Gary Oldman in Criminal
Veteran actor Tommy Lee Jones will be joining fellow renowned actors Kevin Costner and Gary Oldman in a science fiction thriller movie entitled “Criminal.” Read on to learn more about this story.
The science fiction thriller film “Criminal” will be directed by Israeli director Ariel Vroman, who is known for his work in the 2012 film “Iceman.” The film will be produced by Millennium Films, and it will be written by Douglas Cook and David Weisberg. However, there is no release date for the film yet as it is currently in preproduction.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the story will focus on a dangerous criminal who is implanted with the skill set and memories of a deceased CIA agent in the hopes that he will be able to foil a diabolical plot. Tommy Lee Jones will be portraying a neuroscientist, Dr. Frank, who will be performing the delicate surgery on the criminal who chooses to have the procedure done instead of going to jail.
According to The Belfast Telegraph, Kevin Costner will be portraying the role of the criminal, while Gary Oldman will be portraying the role of the CIA chief who allows the procedure to push through.
Gary Oldman is no stranger to portraying spies, as he portrayed the famous fictional British spy, George Smiley, in the film version of John Le Carre’s “Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy” in 2011.
Kevin Costner was recently seen in the superhero film “Man of Steel,” in which he portrayed Jonathan Kent, the foster father of Clark Kent (Henry Cavill), in 2013.
Academy Award winner Tommy Lee Jones — known for portraying Thaddeus Stevens in “Lincoln,” General Douglas MacArthur in “Emperor,” and Special Agent K in “The Men in Black” — is currently starring in a movie that he directed and wrote called “The Homesman.” The western film, in which he will co-star with Hilary Swank, is due out in theaters in November 2014.
