Tony Blair Picks Up GQ Philanthropist of the Year Award [WATCH VIDEO]
For its 17th year, Britain’s best and brilliant were gathered under one roof to celebrate the annual GQ Men Of The Year Awards. The event was held in association with Hugo Boss at the the Royal Opera House in London’s Covent Garden. Read on to learn more about it.
According to the Independent, the former British Prime Minister Tony Blair was given the award for the ‘Philanthropist of the Year’ at the recently concluded men’s magazine awards ceremony. Blair received the prestigious award for the numerous charity organizations that he has including The Tony Blair Sports Foundation, his Faith Foundation and his Africa Governance Initiative.
“I would like to dedicate this award to the people that work with and for my organisations. I feel the pulse of progress beating a little harder.” said Blair in a statement posted in the Independent article.
The annual ceremony also honored Peter Capaldi for best TV Personality, Christopher Bailey for best Designer, while Kim Kardashian took home coveted “Woman of the Year” award.
