Tony Todd: ‘Candyman’ Mystery Man Will Join ‘The Flash’ S2 As The Spine-Chilling Voice Of Zoom
Tony Todd will be the latest actor to join “The Flash’”s gallery of villains for the upcoming season.Todd will be the voice of the time-travelling degenerate known as Professor Zoom. Read on.
Todd, who is known for his role in the “Candyman”horror franchise, may not be visible on screen as he performs his low, resonating and authoritative enunciation in episode two, “Flash of Two Worlds” as cited by Variety. The 60-year-old actor still hasn’t have a medium of who will portray the man behind the mask as what The Flash Season 1 executed within Tom Cavanagh’s Reverse-Flash character. In the comic books, Professor Eobard “Zoom” Thawne is considered the second to don the Reverse-Flash moniker.
Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg also voiced out in the said interview that, “Part of the mystery of the season is who or what is underneath the Zoom outfit, and so we wanted to do something like James Earl Jones as Darth Vader.”
Todd is not new to comic book adaptation.Tthe actor with the spine-chilling voice has a rap sheet that includes voicing Darkseid via the video game franchise “Lego DC Comics Super Heroes” and in “Young Justice” as Icon. The actor also did voice work for “Batman: The Brave and the Bold” as Asteroth.
His other video game voice over includes: Kurn in “Star Trek: The Next Generation:Klingon Honor Guard,” Scene Narrator for “Legend of Dragoon,” Korban in “Star Trek:Elite Force II,” Vortiguant in “Half-Life 2: Episode 2| and an array of voices in “Dota 2.” He also did motion-capture for Briggs as well as the voice in “Call of Duty: Black Ops II.”
Todd also had a minor role as Earl Jenkins in Season 1 of the “Smallville.”
Joining the mounting cast of Greg Berlanti’s superhero adaptation as cited by TV Line are Keiynan Lonsdale who will be a series regular as Wally West aka Kid Flash, Teddy Sears as Jay Garrick and Shantel VanSanten as a future love interest of Barry Allen.
The CW will have its The Flash premiere on Oct, 6, 2015.
