Top 12 Chris Squire ‘Yes’ Songs: Chris Squire passes away at 67

It’s hard to imagine “Yes” band without Chris Squire’s piercing bass tones and throaty vocals. Sadly, Squire has passed away at 67. “Yes” band only constant member since its debut in 1969. In May 2015, Squire announced a hiatus from the band after he was diagnosed with acute erythroid leukemia. Band member Geoff Downes confirmed via Twitter that Chris Squire had died at his home in Phoenix, Arizona. Read on for more details.

Squire, co-founder of the “Yes” band, had been the only member of the band who is on each of the band’s 21 albums. The band’s first show of their tour with Toto on Aug. 7, 2015 will mark the first “Yes” concert which will be performed without Squire. The incredible bass guitarist, Chris Squire will be missed.

According to Loud Wire, “Yes” band released a statement that talked about Squire’s presence and his peaceful demise.

“For the entirety of Yes’ existence, Chris was the band’s linchpin and, in so many ways, the glue that held it together over all these years. Because of his phenomenal bass-playing prowess, Chris influenced countless bassists around the world, including many of today’s well-known artists.” the band said in a statement.
