Why ‘Toy Story 4’ Is Featuring Romantic Story Instead of Adventure?
The latest revelation on “Toy Story 4” has left everyone in shock. The fourth installment of the super successful animated franchise will be featuring a love story instead of an adventure tale. The project is already under development and scheduled to release in 2018. It is speculated that Pixar intentionally turn towards a shift in the genre of “Toy Story 4” as continuing with the same format would not create an interest. According to Hollywood Reporter, current president of Pixar Animation Studios, Edwin Catmull recently stated in an interview that, “Toy Story” is perfect trilogy and with the final part it was done completely. He further stated that they had no choice other than to take it up in a new direction.
Catmull, who is said to be the brains of the operations at Pixar himself, revealed that the story has to be taken in a new exploration and the earlier themes have already been explored in quite a lot.
Probably, the romantic angle has been never been explored or hinted ever in past. It will be interesting to watch how the toys deal with human like emotions and others toys reacting to it. It was earlier speculated that “Toy Story 4” is said to be inspired by the love story of director John Lasseter himself.
Only, time will tell how far the idea succeeded in changing the course of genre for “Toy Story 4.” The series recently marked its 20th anniversary and to celebrate that Pixar revealed a short video of 2 minutes featuring the best feature length movie moments.
“Toy Story 4” is slated to release on June 15, 2018 as of now, if the movie sticks to the schedule.
