‘Toy Story’ 4 Update: Taking A Different Path Away From The First Trilogy
The news that Woody and Buzz Lightyear are coming back to the big screen for the 4th time has gotten everyone happy, children and child at heart alike!
One of the biggest questions is, will Tom Hanks who plays Woody and Tim Allen as Buzz be back? Well, that hasn’t been confirmed yet but let’s keep our fingers crossed that they do come back! It has been confirmed that “Toy Story 4” is slated for a June 2017 premiere.
Disney CEO Bob Iger also confirmed the return of John Lassester, the director of the first two movies.
“John created ‘Toy Story’ and directed the first two films, and it’s great to have him back directing one of our most valuable properties,” Iger said.
The first “Toy Story” movie was released in 1995 while the second instalment was released in 2000. After that, a decade has passed before the third instalment and for the fourth installment, it’s going to be a shorter waiting time this time around. It is definitely something exciting and worth looking forward to!
There have also been news that “Toy Story” 4 will be taking a different path. The president of Pixar spoke to Disney Latina and said that this fourth installment will be different from the trilogy,
“The third movie ended in a beautiful way and completed a trilogy. I think this movie is not part of this trilogy. it is a separate story, which in turn I do not know if will be continued. Never begin a project with that in mind,” Iger said.
This means that “Toy Story 4” will begin a new chapter in the lives of Woody and Buzz and the rest of the gang. And as for the rom-com angle that Morris hinted, could it be between Buzz and Jesse? We are dying to find out!
