‘Transformers 5’ To Hit Theaters In 2017: The Cinematic Universe Has Long-Term Plans?

The “Transformer” series has been a tent-pole project since its very inception. While “Transformers 5” is lined up to hit the theaters in 2017, the franchise has voluptuous plans for the future. Curious? Read on to get the complete scoop.

Paramount Pictures is a part of the mad race for making multi-part sequels, that is epidemic in Hollywood in the current era. Although, the production of the fifth installment of the “Transformers” series is pacing steadily, the franchise doesn’t seem to be quite satiated with creating a superhero embedded fictional world where there is frenzy, destruction and ultimate glory.

The news of atleast 12 sequels of “Transformers” to be pitched for the Cinematic Universe is hovering in the air.

Deadline reported that Paramount Pictures has been negotiating with producer Akiva Goldsman to work with the franchise guru Michael Bay alongwith producers Steven Spielberg and Lorenzo di Bonaventura for the purpose of organizing a writer’s room.

A quick definition- a writer’s room is basically a creative zone, for television projects, where a number of creative minds are exercised to bubble up script and story ideas.

Akiva Goldsman explained, “We’re trying to beg, borrow and steal from the best of them, and gathered a group of folks interested in developing and broadening this franchise. There is a central corridor of movies that has been proceeding quite well, but our challenge will be to answer, where do we go from here?,” reported Movie Pilot.

The franchise and the writer’s room members have expanded their vision to a great extent. They are considering the journey of “Transformers” from its inception, including toys, TV shows, sketches, robots, and merchandise to establish a timeline to create the extension of the plot.

With this rage of tenacious sequels of high-budget flicks, will original and creative ideas ever get a platform?
