‘Transformers 5’ Movie Update: Should Michael Bay Direct the Sequel or Should Steven Spielberg Take Over?

“Transformers 5” will not be released in theatres sooner than most fans would have wished, as the sequel to the “Transformers: Age of Extinction” movie will hit theatres in 2017. Should Michael Bay return to his chair and direct the sequel or should Steven Spielberg take over his spot? Read on to learn more about this scoop.

“Transformers 5” will see the return of our beloved Autobots, Bumblebee and Optimus Prime, as they set out in another mission against the Decepticons. While details about the sequel to the “Age of Extinction” movie are not yet known, some fans began speculating several details on what they hope to see in the upcoming movie.

“Transformers 5” will pave the way for the creation for a “Transformers Cinematic Universe.” According to Cinema Blend, Paramount Pictures has already enlisted several key writers in the industry led by Akiva Goldsman. The company has recently scouted “The Walking Dead” series creator Robert Kirkman to help Goldsman in creating the Transformers universe.

The writing team will also be comprised of Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, the team behind the “Iron Man” movie. Zak Penn, who wrote for “The Avengers” will also be joining the team, along with “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” writer Jeff Pinker.

A fan on the page reacted and voiced out his opinions on how “Transformers 5” could be made a lot better than the “Age of Extinction” fared with the audience. A user named “Robobob” suggested that Michael Bay should be booted from directing the sequel and taking part in the creation of the Transformers Cinematic Universe. Another fan named “Vish Gos” seemed to share his sentiments and said that Steven Spielberg should take over as director and Bay will be the producer.

It was initially thought that Bay will be leaving the “Transformers” franchise following the 2014 “Age of Extinction” movie, but it turns out he was tasked to work alongside Spielberg in the creation of the TCU, Variety reported.
