TV Choice Awards 2014 Nominations Announced: Hollyoaks Nominated in Five Categories [WATCH VIDEO]

The nominees for the 2014 TV Choice Awards have been announced. BBC’s “Sherlock” and ITV’s “Downton Abbey” are among the shows which are nominated in the top categories. Click here to vote for your favorite show or star. You are allowed to vote only once. Voting will remain open until midnight on Friday, July 18, 2014.  David Mitchell will host the 18th annual event. It will take place in London on Monday, September 8, 2014. Read on to learn more about this scoop.

“The calibre of stars who walk the red carpet into our Awards every year shows that it’s an event the TV industry loves and respects, knowing that it’s the viewers who pick the winners,” “We are delighted to be gearing up for our 18th year of prize giving and another truly memorable night,” said Editor-in-Chief Jon Peake in a statement, as published in Digital Spy.


After winning four awards in British Soap Awards 2014, including Best Young Performance (Ellis Hollins), Villain of the Year (Anna Passey), Sexiest Male (Danny Mac) and Best British Soap, “Hollyoaks” is nominated in five categories in the TV Choice Awards 2014.

Best Soap Actor: Kieron Richardson

Best Soap Actress: Nikki Sanderson

Best Soap Newcomer: Kirsty Leigh Porter

Best Soap Storyline: Maxine and Patrick

Best Soap: “Hollyoaks”

BBC’s “Sherlock,” and ITV’s “Downton Abbey” will vie alongside “Waterloo Road” and “Call the Midwife” for Best Drama Series. Benedict Cumberbatch (“Sherlock”) and Allen Leech (“Downtown Abbey”)contend with David Tennant (“The Escape Artist”), and Bradley Walsh “Law & Order: UK,” for the Best Actor award. The Best Actress nominees are Laurie Brett (“Waterloo Road”), Joanne Froggatt (“Downton Abbey”), Sarah Lancashire (“Happy Valley”) and Judy Parfitt (“Call the Midwife”). “The Big Bang Theory,” ”Game of Thrones,” ”Modern Family” and “The Walking Dead”are contending in the Best International Show category. The competition is going to be tough and unpredictable too. “Coronation Street,” “EastEnders,” “Emmerdale” and “Hollyoaks”  are competing for Best Soap category.
