UCC Transforms Into Hogwarts In Sorting Ceremony
How would you feel to be at Hogwarts? Yes, the same school where Harry Potter and his friends went to learn magic. Following the footsteps of other societies, the University College Cork (UCC) has also decided to give its students a true Hogwarts experience. Read on to know how.
UCC is going to hold the first sorting ceremony for its students on September 22nd. The ceremony will take place at 6:30 pm in Aula Maxima, as reported by The Irish Examiner.
The students are in cloud nine after getting the news, said UCC’s vice auditor of the Minerva McGonagall. Not only the students, teachers are equally happy to host this ceremony at their respective colleges.
So far NUIG, DCU, and UCD have Harry Potter societies. Under the sorting ceremony, a student goes to one house out of four. The four houses are Hogwarts, Hufflepuff, Slytherin, Ravenclaw, and Gryffindor.
To give their students a true Hogwarts experience, colleges are planning to organize a Triwizard tournament in the coming months. The famous Quidditch sport is still practiced in the colleges but the administrations have plans to organize an international tournament of the same sport.
The students are overwhelmed by the decision of the college and it could be seen on social networking sites like Facebook, where the page UCC Harry Potter Society had been given more than 1,000 likes and over 2,000 members have joined the page.
The ceremony will be a grand one, followed by number of activities where each house will have their chance of winning house points.
Hope the students have a great time same as they had while reading Harry Potter.
