‘Once Upon A Time’ season 5, episode 6 spoilers: Merida’s hopes of saving her brothers spark anew; Belle will be put in danger, will Rumplestiltskin transform into a hero?
On Sunday, “Once Upon A Time” continues its fairytale drama with a brand-new episode that promises to focus on Rumplestiltskin (Mr. Gold) and the latest addition to the show, Merida (Amy Manson).
Last week, viewers finally get a sneak peek as to how the whole of Storybrooke and Camelot were transported back to modern times. With Emma Swan (Jennifer Morrison) deliberately hurting her own son Henry (Jared S. Gilmore), it just might signal how Emma finally succumbed to fully being the Dark One.
Mr. Gold a.k.a. Rumplestiltskin was also in the episode, but mostly as a background player. He spent most of episode five training with Merida, who kept insisting he does not want to fight as a matter of choice and not ability. In the upcoming episode, though, the two might play more prominent parts both in the Camelot flashback and the Storybrooke arc.
When everyone first met Merida, she was trying to save her brothers from the DunBroch clan. By now, everybody knows that she did not succeed. In episode six, though, her hope might just be sparked once again.
The official synopsis posted by ABC says, “In a Camelot flashback, a chance encounter with Merlin, David, Hook and Belle gives Merida new hope in her quest to save her brothers from the usurping clans of DunBroch. Unwilling to leave anything up to fate, Merida brings Belle along on a dangerous journey that culminates with an invaluable lesson in bravery.”
The lesson on bravery is brought back to Storybrooke as the Dark Swan forces Merida to take a different approach in making Mr. Gold a hero. Enveloped by the Darkness, Emma will order Merida to kill Belle (Emilie de Ravin) to twist Rumplestiltskin’s arm into standing up and saving his one true love. Will it work though? Fans will have to wait and see.
Episode six of “Once Upon A Time” season five is titled “The Bear and The Bow.” It airs on ABC this November 1, 8 p.m. ET.
