Us Weekly Takes Back ‘Interview’ with Kendall Jenner on Bruce Jenner’s Transition

After a rather controversial article they released a few days ago regarding Bruce Jenner’s alleged transition into becoming a woman, Us Weekly has decided to remove the said article due to unconfirmed details and its suspicious source.

On Thursday, March 19, Us Weekly released a statement on their website, apologizing for the trouble caused by an article that was posted on their site the day before. The said article, entitled “Kendall Jenner Breaks Silence on Bruce Jenner’s Transition: ‘I Will Always Love My Dad’”, tells of an interview of Kendall Jenner while backstage of the taping of ‘The Comedy Central Roast of Justin Bieber’.

In this interview, Kendall apparently confirmed the rumours of her father Bruce Jenner’s plans of transitioning into a woman and saying that she loves no matter if he’s a man or a woman. However, having heard of the said article, Kendall took to Twitter to slam Us Weekly and the said interview, saying that no such interview ever occurred.

In response to this, Us Weekly talked to the freelance reporter who submitted the said article. The reporter defended his article and claims the interview did happen. However, after further investigation by their editors, Us Weekly expressed their concerns over its accuracy and decided to retract the article and delete it from their site. In conclusion to their statement, Us Weekly apologized to Kendall and her family.

According to Gossip Cop, they suspected the authenticity of the said article because of the date of the report’s release. Due to the rumours of Bruce Jenner’s transition being considered as big news, it is rather expected that news of its confirmation will be quite an instant scoop. However, Us Weekly’s reporter waited around four days, since the alleged interview was said to occur during the ‘The Comedy Central Roast of Justin Bieber’ taping on Saturday, March 14, to have the report released. The said ‘interview’ was also not included in Us Weekly’s weekly print magazine.
