‘Valerian’ Set for July 21, 2017 Release
Luc Besson who is famous for directing Award winning films like, “Léon: The Professional” and “The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc” has given the official release date of sci-fi film, “Valerian.” Read on for more details.
According to The Hollywood Reporter (THR), the film adaptation of “Valerian” will be an IMAX release has got a release of July 21, 2017 by EuropaCorp. On the behalf of studio, VirginieBesson-Silla will produce the film whose production will start at the end of this year. Not only this, but Besson has also released the first look of the “Valerian.”
The film, “Valerian” is film adaptation of 1967 graphic novel of the same name created by Pierre Christin and Jean-Claude Mezieres. It is set in 28th Century when humanity has finally discovered to time travel. The graphic novel is an all-time hit and has sold over 10 million copies in 21 different languages till its release.
“Lucy” director is set to return with another sci-fi after giving the classic “The Fifth Element.” Besson has brought certain French style to his otherwise standard Hollywood movies. We just hope that he will again bring the French flavour to this sci-fi genre which is otherwise filled with American, British, and Japanese stories.
“The Amazing Spider-Man 2” star Dane DeHaan will star in the title role in “Valerian.” He will play the role of a space and time travelling agent from the 28th Century Earth. Cara Delevigne, who is yet to star in Warner Bros. and DC’s “Suicide Squad” will portray the role of Dane DeHaan’s red-haired companion, “Laureline.”
