‘The Vampire Diaries’ Season 7 Update: Paul Wesley Talks about Nina Dobrev’s Major Appearance
One of the most popular stars of “The Vampire Diaries,” Nina Dobrev has bid farewell to the series last season. Many fans were disappointed of her decision because it wouldn’t just be the same without her. After being a huge part of the show, it’s hard to see “TVD” without Elena Gilbert. On the other hand, it looks like she will be reprising her role on the upcoming episodes of Season 7. Read below for the full details:
When Dobrev decided to leave the show, she was bombarded by the media asking if she really is going. She did mention that it was really the end of her role in “The Vampire Diaries.” And somehow, fans learned to slowly accept that. That’s why it is very surprising that his co-stars Paul Wesley and former flame Ian Somerhalder has just recently teased details that Dobrev will still be a part of Season 7.
Wesley who plays Stefan Salvatore on “The Vampire Diaries” told TV Insider that Elena will still have a huge part in Season 7. Damon is still coping with his loss until he messes with Lily and now his mother wants to avenge Malcolm’s death by hitting Damon where it hurts the most, which would lead to Elena’s body locked up in a coffin, sleeping soundly. Somerhalder’s character will sense that Elena’s body is in danger and he would do anything to protect it. Wesley said that even though Elena is asleep in a coffin, she will still have a major role in the series.
Somerhalder, on the other hand, talked to Hollywood Reporter and shared how Damon is coping with his loss and how the whole set feels like now that Dobrev is gone, “There’s still a lot of elements of the show that was. There’s still very much the presence of Elena. this is Mystic Falls without her. This is the evolution of this story. There’s a lot of great interaction with the brothers,” he said.
