VH1’s List of Nine Artists to Dominate 2015
While we still have the hang of the awesome performances at the 2015 Grammys, let’s get to know who’ll make it big this year. Get ready to update your playlists as we count down to nine artists to dominate 2015 according to VH1.
Kanye West told Ryan Seacrest he is producing Rihanna’s new album, “R8” which Gigwise predicted the LP to be released this December 2015. Capital FM revealed more collaborations in the new album. With all albums making it to Billboard 200’s top 5, fans are expecting another hit from RiRi, and VH1 called it one of the most anticipated thing to happen this year.
- Taylor Swift
The “Blank Space” singer released “1989” in October 2014 and will still be dominating the airwaves until 2015 with her “1989 World Tour,” which starts on May 5, 2015. Additionally, the “1989” album hits like “Blank Space” and “Shake It Off” are still on Billboard Hot 100 list, which means Swift is here to stay.
Madonna’s “Rebel Heart” is set for release on March 10, 2015 according to PopCrush. The Queen of Pop’s 13th studio album made it to the headlines last year after some of her tracks were leaked online. HitFix reported that the album hit no.1 in more than 40 countries, including the U.S. That’s 12 hours after its release for pre-order. No wonder Time mentioned that the Queen has not lost her edge.
- Ariana Grande
Ari has proved she means business with her “The Honeymoon Tour,” which starts on Feb. 25, 2015 and ends on June 16, 2015. With all the talk about her songs and everything Ariana, the “Problem” singer and petite diva has the right to be on this list.
- Meghan Trainor
One of 2014’s most talked-about artist captivated us with her “All About That Bass” followed by her “Lips Are Movin’.” Both songs were a hit, and everyone is on the watch for a new set of chart-toppers as Trainor releases “Title.” Fans are also excited with 2015 THAT BASS TOUR, which started on Feb. 11, 2015.
- Ed Sheeran
With his three Grammy nominations and tours, Ed Sheeran proved to be a noteworthy artist this 2015. While 2014 has been good to the 23-year-old singer, his upcoming shows and concerts this year will once again prove that he is a superstar.
- Britney Spears
Back in December 2014, Australian artist Iggy Azalea revealed that she is collaborating with Britney Spears for Brit’s ninth album. In her interview with On Demand, The “Work Bitch” singer noted that the album will feature a lot of “man-hating” songs. Well, this may be something to look forward to after the somewhat so-so “Britney Jean” album released in 2013.
- Sam Smith
Smith’s “In the Lonely Hour” has been successful last year. With his four wins and awesome performance at the Grammys, the 22-year-old “Stay With Me” singer is definitely someone who’ll conquer the music scene this year.
- Gwen Stefani (No Doubt)
The No Doubt singer is back with her new songs “Spark the Fire” featuring Pharrell and “Baby Don’t Lie.” Fans are now ready with a new album after the success of “Love. Angel. Music. Baby” in 2004 and “The Sweet Escape” in 2006. However, the singer has not shared any update yet. The new No Doubt could be Stefani’s go signal, or she can do both.
“At this point, I’m thinking about both, I can do both,” the 45-year old singer told MTV News.
And that’s it for VH1’s nine artists to dominate 2015. Which artist will you watch out for? Let us know in the comments below.
