Victim Strangled and Hit on Head
Police in California said that an actor from “Sons of Anarchy” killed an elderly woman at her Los Feliz home. The victim, who was 81, died from strangulation and head trauma, said officials from the coroner’s office of LA County. Police identified the actor, Johnny Lewis, as the only suspect in Catherine Davis’ murder.
Davis died following an altercation that took place outside her home on Wednesday. Lewis had been renting a room from Davis. The actor’s body was also found on the driveway in front of the house. Lewis’ death was not determined by police, who said further tests are being performed to make a more accurate determination.
On Wednesday, at approximately 10:40 am, police received calls from neighbors of Ms. Davis saying that a woman was outside screaming and that a group of men were fighting. Lewis had apparently jumped over one of the fences separating Davis’ home from that of her neighbour, to attack a man who was painting the neighbors home, according to a report lodged by one of the neighbors in the area.
The neighbor and his wife along with the painter were able to break free of Lewis after he jumped the fence. They all ran into a nearby home and they all barricaded themselves in front of the door in order to keep Lewis from pushing his way in.
A short time later police arrived and they found the lifeless body of Lewis sprawled on Davis’ driveway. While investigating inside Davis’ home a short time later, police located her body. Authorities said they believe Lewis had been taking drugs. People who knew Lewis said he might have been suffering from mental health issues.
During 2012, Lewis was arrested three different times by police.
