The Voice Season 8 Recap: First Battle Rounds Night

The first night of battle rounds was intense in “The Voice” Season 8 and the coaches brought in their own celebrity advisors. Christina Aguilera has Nick Jonas, Pharell Williams has Lionel Richie, Adam Levin has Ellie Goulding and Blake Shelton has Meghan Trainor. Read on.

However, we had the final part of the blind auditions as well. First there was Nathan Hermina who sang Miguel’s “Sure Thing.” He had Levine and Aguilera’s seats turned but in the end he chose Adam’s team.

Next was Paul Pfau, who performed Frank Sinatra’s “Fly Me to The Moon.” Shelton and Pharell turned their chairs around to face him, but he ended up choosing Pharell’s team. Then we had Gaia Golden who sang Taylor Swift’s “Red” but unfortunately, she didn’t make any chairs turn around.

Vance Smith performed The Four Tops’ “Reach Out I’ll Be There.” He had Pharell and Aguilera rooting for him but he ended up choosing Aguilera and that completes her team.

Caitlin Caporale belted out Christina Aguilera’s “Impossible.” Pharell and Blake fought for her and she completed Pharell’s team. Hannah Kirby completed Blake’s team with her rendition of Joe Crocker’s “The Letter.”

Now, it’s time for the Battle Rounds and the first match was Pharell’s Ashley Morgan versus Mia Z. Pharell chose ZZ Ward’s “Put The Gun Down” for his two singers to sing and they performed equally on stage. In the end, Pharell chose Mia Z while Aguilera, Levine and Shelton tried to steal Morgan. Morgan ended up picking Aguilera as her new coach.

It’s Adam’s team turn and he chose James McNeiece versus Tonya Boyd-Cannon who both sang Michael Jackson’s “P.Y.T.” Both had strong chemistry on stage, which made it difficult for Levine to choose but in the end he went for Boyd-Cannon.

Joshua Davis versus Brian Johnson of Team Blake was up. In the end Blake chose Johnson while Levine got to steal Davis.
