‘War For The Planet Of The Apes’ Commences Filming In Vancouver; Sara Canning, Judy Greer And Aleks Paunovic Join The Cast
Under the direction of Matt Reeves, the upcoming movie “War for the Planet of the Apes” is undergoing the production process in Vancouver. The movie will be the third installment in the “Planet of the Apes” reboot series. The release date is slated for the movie is July 14, 2017.
Since the announcement of the third installment, the fans are finding familiar names and faces from the earlier sequels and even lot of new entries has been declared. Recently, the production team of “War for the Planet of the Apes” has already added three popular faces in its cast – Sara Canning, Judy Greer and Aleks Paunovic.
According to Deadline, “The Vampire Diaries” and “Hell on Wheels” star Sara Canning has reportedly joined the cast of “War for the Planet of the Apes” and the director Reeves wants her to play a new simian character, although details about her role is yet to be revealed.
On the other hand, the 2015’s “Jurassic World” actress Judy Greer will reportedly be reprising her previous role as Chimpanzee Cornelia, the mate of chief monkey Caesar (to be played by the “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” actor Serkis). Although the news of Paunovic’s joining the cast of “War for the Planet of the Apes” is confirmed, his new ape character is yet to be announced.
Venture Capital Post cited that “In the Land of Women” actress would also reprise her role as a gentle orangutan named Maurice. The website reported that other than these actors, other stars like Mercedes de la Zerda, Woody Harrelson, Terry Notary, James Pizziniato, Max Lloyd-Jones, Gabriel Chavarria, Steve Zahn and Amiah Miller would join the cast of War for the Planet of the Apes” and they are said to be playing the antagonists of the movie as “The Colonel.”
