‘Warcraft’ Movie Moves Premiere Date to Make Way For ‘Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens’
The “Warcraft” movie is one of the most awaited films for next year (2016). However, the premiere date has been moved to make way for “Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens.” Read below for the full details:
According to Collider, the latest “Star Wars” film is slated to premiere on December 2015. The team behind the “Warcraft” movie adjusted their premiere date. It was because they believe that the premiere date is a big factor in determining the success of the movie.
Aside from giving way to “Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens,” the “Warcraft” movie contains a lot of CGI. Prolonging its post-production, the team is making it more suitable to adjust the movie’s premiere date.
“Warcraft” is directed by Duncan Jones and the movie adaptation of the hit Blizzard Entertainment’s video game was announced 10 years ago, but it only started production last 2013. It will cover the human and Orc character as well as the ongoing war.
According to Jones, the “Warcraft” movie is to tell the story of the two factions.
“The plan was to start our film with the first time Orcs met Humans. I think that for a world with so much newness to explain, this was a wise choice, especially when so many people in our audience may not know anything about ‘Warcraft.’ ‘Warcraft’ should be about heroes on both sides trying to avoid conflict, when villains leave them no choice.” Jones said.
“Warcraft” is now slated to premiere on June 10, 2016.
