Watch Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani and Jimmy Fallon Duke It Out on ‘The Tonight Show’s’ Lip Sync Battle [WATCH VIDEOS]
Jimmy Fallon had one of his signature lip sync battles on “The Tonight Show’s” last Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2014, episode, pitting the late-night host against professional singers, “The Voice” judges Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani. Raed on for further details.
“The Voice” judges Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani went down at “The Tonight Show” set to duke out a lip sync battle against late night show host, Jimmy Fallon. Shelton, who went first, made his rendition of the ’80s hit “Putting on the Ritz” by Taco, ending his performance with a tap dance. Fellow “The Voice” judge, Stefani, on the other hand, went with the 2012 Carly Rae Jepsen hit “Call Me Maybe,” while Fallon hit it off with Ellie Goulding’s “Burn.”
For the second round, Shelton, once again takes an ’80s classic Starship’s “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now.” Fallon follows with an admirable performance of Spike Jones’ “Cocktails for Two.” However, Stefani and Shelton’s duet of their version of Diana Ross and Lionel Richie’s “Endless Love” claimed winning rights.
Shelton and Stefani are set to coach for “The Voice” Season 7, alongside Adam Levine and Pharell Williams. Pharell and Stefani replaced Shakira and Usher to complete the coaching panel. The team advisors in this season include Stevie Nicks for Team Adam, Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale for Team Gwen, Little Big Town for Team Blake and Alicia Keys for Team Pharrell, along with Taylor Swift serving as an advisor for all teams during the second round of the battles. “The Voice” returns to TV screens on Sept. 22, 2014 on NBC.
Previous lip sync battle contenders include Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Stephen Merchant, Paul Rudd and Emma Stone.
