Watch the ‘Heist Trailer ’: Robert De Niro Menaces as Evil Tycoon, Bautista Serves French Fries

Guns, irresponsibly fast cars, casinos and beautiful women. Add to this combination a menacingly angry Robert De Niro, and you are guaranteed to have a movie that is sure to be a hit. That is what the makers of “Heist” (2015) have done, and you can watch the trailer right after this break. Read on for more details.

De Niro might be pushing 70, but when it comes to playing an really peeved business tycoon, nobody does better. In “Heist,” for example, he seems to be a stingy heartless casino owner, (think Ebenezer Scrooge) who is robber by his employee. The employee in question is Javier Bardem’s clone, Jeffrey Dean Morgan (“Watchmen”, “The Losers”) who must pay for the treatment of his sick daughter. Thrown in the mix is a shotgun-toting, french-fry serving Dave Bautista (“Guardians of the Galaxy”), and Kate Bosworth (“Straw Dogs”) , who vaguely hangs around in the background. Completing the suit is a thuggish Morris Chestnut (“The Best Man Holiday”), as De Niro’s main henchman.

Shoot outs, fight scenes, hijacking a bus, “Heist” looks like a run of the mill action thriller until you see De Niro’s special grimace, and remember “Casino” and “Heat.” While De Niro has mostly been phoning home all his performances for the last decade or so, he has always been truly extraordinary in thrillers. And from the feel of the trailer at least, “Heist” has him poised somewhere between the menacing and comedic. A repeat of 88’s De Niro’s brilliant comedy-crime caper “Midnight Run” might be too much to hope for, but we expect it will not disappoint.

“Heist” is being directed by Scott Mann, and will see release in limited theaters and DTH video on Nov. 13, 2015
