Watch Idris Elba Kick Ass as James Bond in New Mashup Video; Definitely Not ‘Too Street’ For Us

Here’s definitive proof that Idris Elba makes a good “James Bond,” you can just watch him do it. A new Vulture video has Elba drive recklessly and blow things up in spectacular fashion as 007. Read on for more details.

Who says Elba cannot make a good James Bond? Well, Anthony Horowitz for one. But in the mashup latest video from the Vulture, has a suitably smouldering Elba brooding his way though perfectly tailored suits, causing ridiculously over-the-top explosions, and basically super-spying his way all over the world.

Not a good Bond? We beg to disagree. The man sweats sophistication instead of perspiration.  The video, part of the “Vulture Mashups” series, intercuts footage from the upcoming Daniel Craig Bond vehicle, “Spectre” and Elba’s many TV stints, mainly “Luther.”
The video comes in the wake of Bond writer Anthony Horowitz recently placing his foot firmly in his mouth in this now notorious quote, in which he calls Elba too ‘street’ to play Bond:

“Idris Elba is a terrific actor, but I can think of other black actors who would do it better. For me, Idris Elba is a bit too rough to play the part. It’s not a color issue. I think he is probably a bit too ‘street’ for Bond. Is it a question of being suave? Yeah.”

Elba, who proved himself to the most suave actor this side of the Atlantic, responded in style with his instagram account with this photo.

Elba has so much class that he is not only fit to play “James Bond”, he is fit to live it. The man is already demolishing his way through thinly veiled racism in the real world, and would no-doubt annihilate Christoph Waltz’s “Spectre” if he ever got the chance.

You can watch the (unfortunately Elba-less) “Spectre” when it hits theaters on Oct. 25, this year
