What to Expect in Season 2B of ‘Agents of SHIELD’

In less than three weeks, MARVEL will bid a fond farewell to an amazing lady, Agent Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell), and will go back to the present in “MARVEL’s Agents of SHIELD” on March 3, 2015 at 9:00 p.m. In anticipation of its return, MARVEL has released details and promotional videos that gave viewers and fans a sneak peek of what will happen next in the second half of the Season 2. WARNING: This article contains spoilers on the second half of “MARVEL’s Agents of SHIELD.” Read at your own risk.

“The What They Have Become” promotional video gives an exciting preview  as to what will happen next in the second half of the season. In the clip, S.H.I.E.L.D. Director Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) warned everyone that they are currently dealing with forces that they clearly do not understand. Meanwhile, Mac reminds them that they have no idea how it is to feel as if one has lost all sense of control of themselves. It also shows several high-powered action scenes with Bobbi Morse (Adrienne Palicki), Agent Skye (Chloe Bennet), and of course, Agent Melinda May (Ming Na-Wen). Moreover, Agent Skye is in a quarantine chamber in the hospital wing of the bus, and Agent Leo Fitz (Iain de Castecker) steps back as Skye held her head while she screams, which causes a light to blow up. The video ends with Skye telling them that something is definitely wrong with her.

During the recent Television Critics Association Press Tour, Chloe Bennet gave what Skye would be dealing with in the second half of the season. According to the interview, Bennet said that Skye will be dealing with the loss of Agent “Trip” Triplett (B.J. Britt), which she isn’t taking very well since she believes that she is responsible for his death. She will also be trying to deal with her newfound powers, as she isn’t sure about what they are and how the rest of the team, especially Coulson, would take it. It seems as if Skye will have to hide her powers from her team for a while, and this will take a toll on her as she values being upfront and truthful about everything, especially with Coulson.

Moreover, Lady Sif, who is portrayed by Jamie Alexander, will be returning to the show. According to TV Insider, Lady Sif will appear in the second episode and will be found by S.H.I.E.L.D. with no memory of who she is or who Thor is. Prior to this, she had gone to Earth because of a mission and fought with a villain as strong as her, which led to her being found with amnesia.

Sif’s appearance will be a little bit of a “catalyst” that will jumpstart the second half of the season. In addition, Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen teased that Sif would be shedding some light to some questions that the team might have and that her appearance will have a big emotional impact on the entire time.
