The couple purchased the house with area of 14,000 square feet in early June 2013, and ever since, they have been residing in Kim’s mother Kris Jenner’s Hidden Hills estate with baby North West. According to Hollyscoop, the Wests purchased the house from real-estate agent Mauricio Umansky, the husband of Kyle Richards, Kim’s friend and “Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills.” The Daily Mail reported that the newlyweds will never move in the estate, and after an year of construction on the luxurious abode, they are now considering selling it.
Apparently, Kanye West is a classicist, so he spent $11 million dollars in renovation of the Mediterranean-style mansion to make it suitable for their A-list lifestyles before inhabiting in with Kim Kardashian. He wanted to add a new gym, cinema, bowling alley and basketball court. The couple reportedly was hoping to move in by July 2014.
“The renovations are taking longer than expected. They are looking into other possibilities. By no means is the house on the market. It’s still in the process of being renovated but no definite plan to sell it has been made by any means,” confirmed a source to Hollywood Life.
According to the Daily Mail on June 27, 2014, Kim Kardashian West, Kendall and Kris were seen checking out a penthouse apartment worth $21 million in the Puck Building in the Soho neighborhood of Tribeca. Architect Jared Kushner, husband of Ivanka Trump, owns the building. Kushner himself had shown the house to Mrs. West, Kris and Kendall Jenner.
Could Kim and Kanye’s dissatisfaction over their tedious home renovation be driving them to New York?
