The “Minions” are already halfway through the record breaking success and might surpass the records of sisters’ “Elsa and Anna.” It was released in China over the weekend and collected approximately $20.1 million on the opening day itself.
In total, the figure of “Minions” has come to a close to $1.08 billion, which has made it to climb up second position turning down “Toy Story 3” from number two to three, while “Frozen” tops the list with an estimated figure of $1.27 billion, as stated by Entertainment Weekly.
It is believed by the critics that animated movies have slow and steady grabbed the box-office, and positive reviews and critics feedback pulls the audience. It has been three months since “Minions” released in the U.S., but is still running in almost 1500 theaters with a satisfactory response. No doubt the animation flick has full-on chance to surpass “Frozen” record.
“Minions” is another feather in the cap of Universal Studios with many such successful movies like “Jurassic World,” “Fast & Furious” Series, “Pitch Perfect” Series and “Fifty Shades of Grey” to name a few.
