Will ‘Pacific Rim: Maelstrom’ Get Delayed? Or Is it Just A Rumor?
If there would not have been this magnificent overseas box office success for the movie “Pacific Rim” to a figure of $309 million in the year 2013, perhaps there would be no sequel made for this movie.
The film has been highly successful in carving out a niche audience for it worldwide though very few critics were impressed with how the move had shaped up.
The release of the sequel to the original movie is being awaited with tremendous anticipation all across the globe. In fact, several die-hard fans of the original movie are already saying that it is another blockbuster in the making.
However, lately Latino Review has presented a new rumor about the sequel which has been christened as “Pacific Rim: Maelstrom”. The rumor is all about an expected unforeseen delay on its release date and goes on to say that there may be further delay from its tentative original release date of 2017.
Well!! That’s more than two years away if the talk of delay is a fact.
There was a report in July that the sequel would make an entry into its production stage in the month of November this year in Toronto. However, sources close to the project revealed that its production has now been delayed to 2016.
If such a change of plan does take place, it is bound to alter the release date of the movie and may even postpone its release date into 2018 according to We got this covered.
Fans all over the world who are waiting eagerly to return to their favorite world of giant robots and Kaijus may have to wait in such a scenario.
In fact multiple sources have confirmed the news to Latino-Review that Guillermo’s ambitious sequel to “Pacific Rim” will be delayed.
Del Toro’s “Crimson Peak” will be soon hitting the theaters next month and he has a new project on his already long list.
