Will Smith And Jada Pinkett-Smith Leave Church of Scientology; Demands $1.2 Million Donation Refund

Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith have left the Church of Scientology claiming a refund of over $1.2 million from one of schools run by the church.

Christian post reported that Will and wife Jada Smith had claimed the refund after one of the schools run by the Church of Scientology was closed two years ago. The Will Smith foundation asked for a refund for the large sum the foundation had donated to the New Village Leadership Academy in 2008.

This wasn’t the only donation that Will Smith Foundation had forwarded to Scientology based institutions. The Will Smith Foundation had made many donations to various scientology related projects. The tax records showed that these totalled to upwards of seventy thousand dollars. But this was done years ago. The Will Smith Foundation has not made any donations in the recent past and the stars have most likely moved out of the Scientology circuit.

The assumption that the couple have parted ways with the Church of Scientology were confirmed recently by the former Scientology senior executive Mike Rinder. He disclosed that the couple are no longer members of the Church. It is notable that Will Smith , who was raised a baptist, had been introduced to Scientology by Tom Cruise who is deep into the Scientology mystic circle. Smith had consistantly supported Cruise’s stance on Scientology all through these years, but now, it seems that he has moved on.

There is a rumor doing rounds that Cruise is also leaving the Church of Scientology. It is said that he was pressed by the church not to talk to his daughter, Suri, 9, with ex-wife, Katie Holmes. Holmes has refused to raise her child based on the tenets of the church.
