Wonder Woman creator Dr. William Moulton Marston gets a biopic under Sony Pictures Worldwide. The film about the superhero creator reportedly stars Luke Evans in the lead role.
Year 2017 may be the year for DC’s heroine Wonder Woman. The heroine was introduced in the DC franchise earlier this year in Batman vs. Superman.
Diana Prince and her alter ego will take the center stage next year on its live-action film starring Gal Gadot. The movie is one of the most-anticipated action films for 2017.
The superhero will also appear in a crossover film called Justice League, which is slated to premiere in November of 2017.
The character continues to generate buzz when Wonder Woman reborn writer Greg Rucka cleared the heroine’s sexuality. Rucka revealed that some speculations are true and that Diana Prince is indeed bisexual.
Fans may have more reason to look forward to in 2017. Indie Wire recently published that Sony Pictures Worldwide successfully acquired rights for the upcoming biopic film. Sony and DC are working on a biopic film featuring the creator, Dr. William Moulton Marston.
Actor Luke Evans is enlisted to portray Dr. Marston, while Rebecca Hall is set to play Marston’s wife, Elizabeth. Actress Bella Heathcote will play Olive Byrne.
As of the moment, the film has a working title called Professor Marston & the Wonder Women. Angela Robinson will direct and write the upcoming movie.
The site revealed that the biopic will revolve around the controversy in the creation of Wonder Woman. The comic was accused of promoting lesbianism, which was quite unacceptable during the late 1940s. The film will also expose the unusual relationship of the couple with Olive.
Topple cofounder Andrea Sperling and Amy Redford and Terry Leonard will produce the film. The film will be executively produced by Jill Soloway and Clare Munn. The film reportedly started production earlier this week.
No premiere date has been confirmed yet for the Wonder Woman biopic.
