‘Wonder Woman’ Update: What Do Sean Bean’s & Eva Green’s Characters Mean For The Story
Gal Gadot might be taking on Sean Bean and Eva Green in “Wonder Woman.” Inside sources at Hollywood are suggesting that Bean and Green have been cast as the villains in the upcoming DC Universe film. Read on for more details.
Sources over at Heroic Hollywood have revealed rumored casting for “Wonder Woman” villains, and it is Bean and Green. They two are reportedly playing two Greek mythological gods: ‘Ares’, the god of War and ‘Circe’, the goddess of Magic. No word on whether Sean Bean, (“Game of Thrones”’ Ned Stark) will survive to the end of the movie, but given his track record, it is highly doubtful.
The “Wonder Woman” comic book famously have the superhero herself transcending her mortality as the god of War. If casting rumors are believed, this means she will have to beat the holiness out of Bean at some point. And with Bean’s on-screen death rates, it is unlikely he will survive the encounter.
‘Circe’ is being played by the stunning Eva Green. She is the sorcerer-god of the Wonder Woman universe, with powers to shape-shift and change people into animals in totally hilarious ways. She also likes to allure men to their death, a role that is perfect for Green, who played a similar femme fatale in “Sin City 2” and “300: II.”
Sources at Bleeding Cool, who have seen the films script, have “Wonder Woman” being set in 1920’s and featuring the Amazon island of Themyscira heavily. The casting news, if legitimate, will mean the movie will feature the Greek pantheon heavily, focussing on her magical and mythological aspect more than superheroics. Which is incredible, because we have a lot of super-hero films but none so steeped in myths.
