‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ Revealed Magneto & Apocalypse’s Role at Comic-Con 2015
Everyone expected this to happen. Director Bryan Singer graced the Hall H of Comic Con 2015 with the full cast of his upcoming movie “X-Men: Apocalypse”, which is the final installment in the trilogy that started with “X-Men: First Class”. The movie will see all the major characters of the trilogy returning for the installment except for one or two. The director spoke about the upcoming movie as well as introduced the first trailer at the event.
According to IGN, Bryan introduced the trailer of the movie by saying that the story is set in a world where everyone has accepted mutants for the most part, all because of the heroic courtesy of Raven aka Mystique played by Jennifer Lawrence in the ending of the previous installment “X-Men: Days of Future Past”. The story is set in the 80’s and as the title itself reveals Apocalypse, the main villain in the movie has also returned for which the reasons are not known.
The trailer that was introduced at the event starts with Jean Grey played by Sophie Turner waking up from a nightmare of witnessing the world’s end. Professor Xavier is by her side and convinces her as a bad dream. One can also hear the voice of Apocalypse, a God like mutant who has been around since the beginning of time who mentions that the entire human race is his children who have mistakenly followed blind leaders and as a result are lost. He also assures in his own horrifying way that everything that the human race has built shall fall and a better world will be built upon it.
Later in the panel, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender & Oscar Isaac also spoke about their characters providing more details about them. Jennifer mentioned that fans will be seeing more of Raven instead of Mystique which means she will be fighting for the good side this time around. Oscar Isaac spoke about Apocalypse being similar to a cult leader whose main power is to persuade. As far as Magneto is concerned, Michael stated that he will be done with being a symbol of bad and will quietly live in the forest with possibly a family and growing a beard since in the last installment he bid good bye to his old friend Xavier.
Clevver Movies also recently revealed the four horsemen that Apocalypse will be using. The four horsemen that were revealed at the Comic Con were Angel, Psylocke, Storm and Magneto himself. However it was not revealed which mutant will take on what identity but it would certainly look pretty intriguing. The movie currently in production will release next year on May 27th.
