YouTube Star ‘Shane Dawson’ Comes Out: “I am Bisexual…” [Watch Video]

YouTube star Shane Dawson became famous for his comedy sketches and parodies and with that, he managed to acquire 6 million subscribers on his YouTube channel. However, on Tuesday, July 7, 2015, Us Weekly reported that what was expected to be a parody turns out to be a confession from Dawson when he came out just himself, no costumes nor wigs. Read on.

His video is 15 minutes long and before he launched with his monologue about his journey towards self-acceptance.

“This is a really hard video for me to make. And I’m really scared.” Dawson said.

YouTube confession about one’s sexuality is nothing new, this is not the first time someone has done it. However, there is something that sets Dawson’s confession apart when he said that he almost wished he was 100% gay just so he could be sure of who he really is.

“I can’t honestly say I’m gay. I can’t honestly say I’m straight. But I can honestly say that I am open to love, in any way, and I guess that makes me bisexual.” Dawson said.

He also shared how growing up in a very religious family has been very difficult. Dawson had several relationships with women, including a long relationship with fellow YouTube star Lisa Schwartz but he admitted that even during those time his confusion about his sexuality never left him.

“I am bisexual. I have it out loud once before, in therapy. I have never really talked about it until now, publicly. The reason I’m talking about it is because there’s a lot of coming out videos of people that are gay or lesbian, and they’re so confident and they’re like, you know, ‘I’ve known since I was 5,’ ‘I’ve always been gay’… I’m not that. I don’t know who I am 100 percent.”
