Zac Efron to Play as Spider-Man in ‘Captain America 3: Civil War’?

Sony Pictures recently shocked the world with its announcement that “The Amazing Spider-Man” will no longer be continued. Now, Sony and Marvel have teamed up to share live-action control of Spider-Man. Who will play the role of the new Spider-Man? Read on to learn more about this scoop.

With the recent announcement that Spider-Man is going to make an appearance in “Captain America 3: Civil War,” which is set for a release on May 6, 2016, people have begun speculating as to which actor best fits to take on the role of the new Spider-Man.

Some were still caught up with “The Amazing Spider-Man,” which featured Andrew Garfield and left Emma Stone dead. Others were still wishing to see Tobey Maguire reprise his role as Spider-Man, while others were hoping to find a fresh new face to play Spidey.

Zac Efron is one of the most notable actors being chosen by fans and critics to play the role of the new Spider-Man. Efron is one of the biggest names in his generation in Hollywood. He has also greatly transitioned from his infamous role in “High School Musical” as he took on more mature and serious roles in “The Lucky One” and “That Awkward Moment.” While some may say that Efron is the best choice for the next Spider-Man, Movie Pilot comments that Efron is “never Spiderman,” because he’s “too much of a pretty boy.” The outlet reported that while Efron’s fan base may be good enough to draw crowds to the theaters, Marvel has to come up with a much younger actor if they plan to make more “Spider-Man” movie deals.

Logan Lerman’s name has also been making rounds as the perfect actor to star in the new “Spider-Man” film. Lerman became known for his role in the movie, “Percy Jackson” and has starred in movies such as “Noah” and “Fury.” According to Toronto Sun, Lerman “has the physicality that intersects with an appealing awkwardness and intelligence.” Lerman is also Movie Pilot’s Harry Reilly Jr.’s personal choice as he claims that Lerman is “a contender for the role and should be considered.”

Dylan O’Brien from “The Maze Runner” series is also being capped for the role. Other actors being penned to play the new Spider-Man include Roshon Fegan and Jay Baruchel.

Which of these actors do you wish to play the new Spider-Man? Sound off in the comments!
