Zayn Malik is Leaving One Direction For Good Following Hiatus, Reports Say
One Direction’s Zayn Malik is rumored to be leaving the group permanently following his hiatus after reports on his alleged cheating swindled on the Internet. Read on to learn more about this scoop.
Could One Direction be permanently performing on tours with only four boys? That’s what recent reports say. According to Radar Online, sources close to the boys claim that Malik could actually be leaving the group for good.
“A lot of people in their camp fears that this is the beginning of the end for One Direction,” a source told Radar Online.
It was previously reported that Malik and his fiancé, Perrie Edwards were rumored to have split. Then just last week, Malik was photographed with his arm around a lady named Lauren Richardson in Thailand. It seemed to confirm that the “Story of My Life” hit maker and Edwards have broken up.
These rumors caused Malik to leave the One Direction “On the Road Again” tour on its Asian leg due to “stress.”
Apparently, the cheating rumors just reached the top of his limit. According to the outlet, the cheating rumors were not the start of the “Night Changes” singer’s breaking point and it stems from way back in 2014.
The outlet cited that Malik had “darker issues” such as when he was noticeably absent from the band’s guesting on “The Today Show” in Nov. 2014. The group defended Malik back then and said that Malik was seriously ill.
Perez Hilton also claims that while a source close to Malik says that fans should not “read too much into this.” The source added that things might change once the band’s “On the Road Again” tour comes to an end.
“He is just a kid. He wants to make music, but the spotlight that comes with it is hard,” the source revealed.
How would One Direction fare with only four members?
It appears that the boys did just as well (but still incomplete) without Malik during their tour in Manila. The boys and Directioners paid tribute to Malik during their concert.
According to MTV, the boys did not introduce themselves as One Direction, but rather as their individual names. Fans from the Philippines also wore masks with Malik’s face and kept on chanting his name throughout the concert. Aww, that’s so sweet!
