“Gambit,” the another upcoming project of 20th Century Fox and add-on feather to the X-Men franchise is facing a very serious issue as its director Rupert Wyatt has left the project which is slated for 2016 release but now shifted to 2017 or later. What forced Wyatt to left the strong project, scheduling conflict, mismatch ideas or something else, let us find out.
There is not only one reason behind Wyatt’s decision of leaving Channing Tatum starrer movie. It was said that the scheduling conflict was blamed for his leaving the project, but slowly other issues are coming to light too. Wyatt’s desire for making best out of something is another reason. It leads him to a state where he finds himself in a dicey situation meaning best or not and if he feels like he can’t make best than he himself quits the project in a fear of later pushed away by someone else.
Like a close source said, “I think he’s a very principled guy. He wants to make the best version of something, and he’s so desperately afraid of making something not good that it’s easier to walk away than be pushed by committee,” revealed THR. It was also said that Wyatt believes in taking chances by experimenting things, but the Studio is totally against this idea.
Another reason which is coming to light is the adding inputs to the vision of the studio but in Gambit’s case it was said that Tatum and producer Simon Kinberg are giving first preferences over Wyatt’s vision. So, automatically the director decided to quit if there is no place for his say.
“Planet of the Apes” franchise and indie movie “The Escapist” helmer Wyatt has done this signing on and quitting the projects thing earlier as well with other studios, firstly with a Warner Bros.’s project and then in case of “The Equalizer,” a project by Sony.
Well, it is difficult to say which one is the main reason behind Wyatt’s decision but one thing is sure that the director decided to leave the project before it is too late. He is no doubt a talented man and will get new projects too but in which direction “Gambit” is going, it is the main concern at this point of time.
