2NE1 CL released her unofficial single “Hello B*tches” last Nov. 21 and as expected, it went viral in just two days! Read on!
Everybody thought that 2NE1 will be the one having a comeback when YG Entertainment official website posted a teaser indicating that someone or a group from the company will be having their spotlight once again but it turned out to be none other than CL—the group’s leader and the baddest female YGE ever had!
According to Popcrush, weeks before CL released her “Hello B*tches” song, YG artists particularly Bigbang’s leader, G-Dragon, 2NE1’s fresh vocal, Dara, Taeyang and YGE founder himself Yang Hyun Suk helped to promote the female rapper’s song by posting different letters from her title track.
In her interview with Noisey, the 24-year-old rapper said that the released song was more of a street single and not an official single. CL or Chaelin Lee revealed that she wanted to give the fans something that will excite them that’s why she released this “little surprise video.”
Well, it seems like she really did surprise her fans, who have been waiting while she prepares for her solo album to be launched. It clearly shows how they welcomed CL’s “Hello B*tches.”
CL noted that since she is a Korean, “it’s a good way of presenting me and it’s for everyone around the world to see where I am from and to keep it authentic.”
Moreover, KPop Starz cited reports that CL revealed that it was not supposed to be “Hello B*tches” because it’s original title was “Asian B*tches” [featuring English star M.I.A] which she thought to be too categorized.
“We started it then, but I was like, ‘Asian Bitches’ is too categorized.’ I mean, you can’t sing along with ‘Asian Bitches,’ you know?” CL told Noisey.
The 2NE1 leader went on to say that the song was “just a tip of the iceberg” and it was a gift for her fans. She pointed out that she wanted people to enjoy so it’s free music. As of writing, 1,836,631 views!
