2NE1 Park Bom is definitely back, but it seems like the group will still be extending their hiatus even though their contract with YG Entertainment will expire next year. Read on.
Blackjacks are still wondering where did 2NE1’s Park Bom have been during her disappearance from the limelight after all the controversies were thrown against her.
Though YG Entertainment told the netizens that the group’s vocalist is fine, many fans started to speculate that it is a sign that 2NE1 is now preparing to disband after six years of being one of the most influential girl group in Asia.
The group’s record label already clarified before that there’s no such plan for 2NE1. However, since there’s still no news about their exact comeback, Blackjacks are still not convinced on the released reports, but it seems like everything will change with the latest update bout the girls and Park!
According to KPop Starz, Blackjacks who have been asking the company when the girls will resume their band’s activities will still need to wait until each member’s individual activities are finished. Meaning, the group will definitely have a comeback but not anytime soon.
Adding on, one of the reasons why the comeback is repeatedly delayed is because of Park.
Based on the reports, the company wants to give the 30-year-old singer a time for reflection—a more personal time.
Yang Hyun Suk, YG Entertainment founder, had an interview with Newsen (via All Kpop) recently and he revealed that they are still not planning for 2NE1’s new song yet because “Park Bom needs time off for reflection.”
Moving on, YG did not elaborate any other details regarding the singer instead he opened up about the plans for 2NE1’s leader, CL.
YG said that “As of now, we are focusing on CL‘s American debut. After she does well [in America], we will think of [plans for] 2NE1. 2NE1 is contracted until next year.”
Meanwhile, the other two members of 2NE1, Dara Park, and Mizy are both busy handling their hectic schedules these past few months.
Dara is currently busy with her acting career. She was recently tapped to star in KBS “Missing Korea” opposite of Kim Jeong Hoon while Mizy, on the other hand, is currently managing her own dance academy.
