Adele might have set fire to the rain with her music, but the songstress’ family is everything to her. In an unprecedented move, the 25-year-old singer has refused a £80-million offer to tour for her new album entitled “25,” preferring instead to stay at home with family. Read on to find out more.
The “Rolling in the Deep” singer has a two-year-old son, Angelo with partner Simon Konecki, and she does not want to travel with a child so young. So instead, she is turning down promoters all over the world (particularly Las Vegas). While all this is very laudable, we take a look at some of the other reasons that might be stopping her from hopping all over the world.
First of all, Adele, by her own admission, hates touring. In an interview with with Rolling Stone in 2011, the singers confessed her reaction to her audience is tragic, is slightly hilarious.
“I’m scared of audiences,’ Adele explained. ‘I get sh***y scared. One show in Amsterdam, I was so nervous I escaped out the fire exit. I’ve thrown up a couple of times. Once in Brussels, I projectile-vomited on someone”
The singer has been also been troubled by bad health, undergoing a throat operation in 2011 after a vocal cord hemorrhage. Daily Mail UK reported that since then, she has been shy of appearing in live performances, with a rare exception for the 2013 Oscars event.
Tour or not though, fans are eager with excitement for her new album, which debuts this November. Though details of the project are being kept under wraps, we do know she has collaborated with Danger Mouse and One Republic’s Ryan Tedder for the project. This returns Adele to the forefront of the industry after a four-year-long haitus, and we could not be more excited.
“25” releases on Nov. 2015, and is being produced by Adele’s record label, XL Recordings.
