“Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” and “Captain America: Civil War” are undoubtedly going to be next year’s big scorchers and with the promotional material circulating around, buzz around both the movies is massive. As much as unique both the projects are for their respective studios, there are also quite a few similarities between the both. Here’s a short list:
- “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” and “Captain America: Civil War” both have heroes fighting each other not because they hate each other but because they have their own set of principles they believe in. So if “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” has Batman pitted against Superman, “Captain America: Civil War” will show Captain America squaring off against Iron Man.
- Second common point between them is that there’s a third person involved who is causing the fight between the two heroes. What is even more surprising that this third person also happens to be a major villain in the respective cinematic universe. When DCEU has Lex Luthor, MCU has Baron Zemo. Both the villains will be purposely making the good sides fight so that they can escape the consequences for their wrongdoings.
- Thirdly both the movies will show both the heroes eventually uniting against this common/bigger enemy. So when Batman is done brawling with Superman, they will be uniting to fight Doomsday and Lex Luthor. In Marvel’s case, when Captain America and Iron Man are done hashing off their fight, they will have to deal with Baron Zemo and his plans.
- Finally in both the movies, the morally inclined character is the one who is being suppressed, facing the fire and has been put under control. In DCEU, Superman is being summoned for his actions even when whatever he did in “Man of Steel” was to save this world. In MCU, the Government is chasing Captain America just because he believes in every individual’s liberty and is fighting for the same. On a rather funny and co-incidental note, the force coming after both Superman and Captain America are wealthy Billionaires who have connections everywhere. So when Billionaire Bruce Wayne is out there trying to get even with Superman, Marvel’s Billionaire Tony Stark is trying to bring Captain America down.
Screen Rant reported that with “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” fans will also have high hopes from the villain and not just the heroes. Since Doomsday has been revealed in the second trailer of the movie, expectations from the character will be too much. Cinema Blend noted something on Captain America’s personal side. According to the media outlet, Captain America could potentially have someone to romance in “Captain America: Civil War” since he hasn’t been in the dating pool for a while. “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” and “Captain America: Civil War” will release on March 25th and May 6th respectively.
