“Sons of Anarchy” creator Kurt Sutter and executive producer Paris Barclay shared four other spinoff ideas besides the “Sons of Anarchy” Prequel, tagged as “The First 9,” in a previous interview with a cable channel. What are they? Read on for more details.
When asked about the “Sons of Anarchy” spinoff, Kurt Sutter said that he really had no solid idea what to make of it. But he would find a way for it since FX president John Landgraf wanted to pursue it due to the success that the American drama series had.
Paris Barclay also shared the same desire to release a SoA spinoff and revealed that he and Sutter already had five concepts for it, with “The First 9” as one of them. As discussed in an interview with E! Online, the following are the other four spinoff ideas with titles suggested by the cable channel:
SoA Spinoff Idea No.1: “Sons of Anarchy: The New Romeo and Juliet.” Barclay said that there was a story to be told about Tig (Kim Coates) and Venus (Walton Goggins) that was worth telling.
SoA Spinoff Idea No. 2: “Sons of Anarchy: Cooking With Juice.” Barclay revealed that he would rather want Theo Rossi’s character alive because there was still an issue needed to address about his black dad and how he joined the club.
SoA Spinoff Idea No. 3: “Sons of Anarchy: First Mommy and Second Daddy.” Barclay expressed interest about what would happen to Jax’s two children with Nero (Jimmy Smits) and Wendy (Drea de Matteo) as parents.
SoA Spinoff Idea No. 4: “Sons of Anarchy: The Handless Wonder.” Barclay said that he was “very interested” how a story could transpire through Chucky’s perspective as the character was seen becoming more mature and real while SoA went on.
These are the other four spinoff ideas that both Sutter and Barclay came up in the wakt of the series ending of SoA.
“Sons of Anarchy Prequel: The First Nine”
However, the one thing that struck their heart was the “Sons of Anarchy” Prequel, tagged as “The First Nine.” And so far, details about it were pretty scarce.
Its release date was also uncertain. Sutter told IGN that they wouldn’t be doing the prequel for a “couple of years.”
But once it gets out, fans could expect a timeline set back in 1960s in Vietnam where the club was first established. It would feature the club’s first nine members. Thus the moniker, “Sons of Anarchy Prequel: The First Nine.”
