Recently, it was revealed that popular band 5 Seconds of Summer (5SOS) was supposed to be a three-member group but thanks to a certain mobile phone application, they managed to find Ashton Irwin!
Recently, 5 Seconds of Summer (5SOS) members Luke Hemmings, Calum Hood, Michael Clifford and Ashton Irwin revealed the hilarious way on how their band got formed. It is almost unbelievable that one message sent during one night helped form one of the most popular bands today.
According to J-14, 5SOS, in an appearance on James Corden’s “Late Late Show” program, talked about random things, such as Clifford’s stage accidents, extreme experiences with fans, and how these four awesome boys became “the” band.
It turned out that the band was originally composed of Hemmings, Hood and Clifford but thanks to the “power of connecting on social media”, they managed to find their one of a kind drummer- Irwin!
The “Sound Good, Feels Good” singers revealed how they found Irwin, thanks to one of Hood’s ideas and thanks to the fact that Clifford sometimes messages people in the middle of the night.
The nineteen year old bassist admitted that they were a trio at first- a trio who did tons of videos on YouTube. However, after realizing that they needed a drummer, Clifford decided to invite Irwin to join them.
Hood then said that after booking a gig, they realized that they needed a drummer, which led to Clifford coming up with the idea of messaging Irwin.
Irwin then revealed that he remembered exactly how the red-haired member approached him. Clifford sent him a message on Facebook at two o’ clock in the morning and asked him if he was busy. Irwin then had replied that he wasn’t doing anything at the moment.
Irwin then went on in detail about the rest of their conversation.
Clifford then told Irwin to call them up at anytime if ever Irwin wanted to just hang out and if ever he wanted to join them when they performed. Irwin then agreed to do just this, and the rest was history.
Unreality TV reported that Irwin joined the band in 2011,and from then on, slowly but surely, they were discovered and became One Direction’s opening act for one of their concerts. From then on, they became the band known as 5 Seconds of Summer.
