“Sounds Good Feels Good”, the much-awaited album from 5 Seconds of Summer finally rolled out in the market last week. The album has been described to be radio-friendly and rollicking pop punk by some of the collaborators such as Good Charlotter’s Joel and Benji Madden and Deryck Whibley from Sum 41.
According to Follow News, on the occasion of the release of their album singer-bassist Calum Hood and singer-guitarist Luke Hemmings speak out about their long time influences and current favourites that comprise the fun musical and diverse DNA.
Calum Hood says that he has a good amount of respect for this band as when he was of the age of 15 he used to admire the songwriting of Alex. He has tried many times to compose a song like “Stay Awake” or “Jasey Rae.” These are the two songs which he always tried to make a copy of in some way.
According to him, he is of the view that his dream is finally turning out to be real and this is something really wonderful to watch. It is obvious that things are working out as they are able to get a good quantity of airtime and are playing at different arenas.
When Luke Hemmings was asked to talk about the latest album release, the singer says that he used to watch the famous DVD of Straight to DVD whenever he used to be at Michael’s house. It has made a considerable amount of influence on a new and upcoming band like them. It has inspired them to write wonderful music and work on live shows.
Calum Hood, according to Rolling Stone, The Used is his favourite band. He really admires the rhythm section and the guitar lines and the angst.
