50 Cent was charged on Wednesday with domestic violence after the veteran rapper allegedly kicked the mother of one of his children and destroyed property of hers inside her condo in June, reported TMZ.
An attorney said 50 Cent was accused of $7,100 worth of damage of property during an incident on June 23, which happened inside the condo of the victim in California’s Toluca Lake.
According to authorities, Los Angeles Police Department officers arrived at the scene and the woman told them she had been in an altercation with 50 Cent and then locked herself inside her bedroom
50 Cent, whose real name if Curtis Jackson allegedly became so enraged, he kicked the door down and then kicked the woman, which resulted in her being injured
Law enforcement officials said the rapper, who is 37 years old, had also be accused of damaging furniture, chandeliers, a lamp and a TV.
He was also accused of ransacking the closest in her bedroom during his outrage.
When police arrived, 50 Cent was no longer at the scene. The rapper received five charges including misdemeanor domestic violence and misdemeanor vandalism.
If 50 Cent is convicted on the five counts, he could be sent to prison for five years and pay fines in excess of $46,000.
The rapper is due to appear in court on July 22 to be arraigned. No one representing 50 Cent has made a comment regarding the situation.
