Rapper 50 Cent thinks that Jay Z is better at public relations than him. The rapper spoke about this in a column for the publication, “The Big Issue.” The column was titled “Letter to my younger self” and discussed about the kind of advice he would give to his younger self. 50 Cent said that he would ask his younger self to focus more on the music.
Rapper 50 Cent spoke truthfully and recounted many stories in the column “Letter to my younger self” in the recent issue of “The Big Issue.” “Letter to my younger self” features celebrity guest posters who are asked a simple question – what advice would they give to their 16-year-old self.
50 Cent told the interviewers that at 16 he was already pretty heavily involved in the street life. He had been dealing in drugs since he was 12. He confessed to being tougher on the streets but when he got home his grandmother was in charge.
The death of his grandmother impacted him in a way that the deaths on the streets where he hustled for money didn’t. 50 had always dreamed of having nice clothes and living in a nice home and he only got into the music business because he wanted the money. He thinks that he got lucky with it – the one case where hard work beat talent.
He said that he was lucky to have been signed on by Eminem’s label. He was all praise for him. He was all praise for Jay Z too. “If I look at Jay Z, I’d point out he capitalized on people better than I did,” he declared. He said that he would’ve liked to teach the same to his 16-year-old self.
