Fans of the erotic drama, “Fifty Shades of Grey” had some big news coming for the proposed sequel, “Fifty Shades Darker.” From word on what makes a good second-installment of a BDSM-themed series to the movie’s release date and casting rumors. Read on to find out more.
Movie Pilot has offered some pointers for the second installment of “Fifty Shades of Grey,” which includes a varied list of demands, from longer sex-scenes to more gliders. The character of ‘Jack Hyde,’ who appears in “Fifty Shades Darker” as Ana’s (Dakota Johnson) boss and primary antagonist, has been suggested to be turned into a nicer man in order to pursue a possible love triangle between Ana and Christian. This is in interest of making Jamie Dornan more appealing as the sadistic ‘Mr. Grey.’
Meanwhile, rumors about casting in the new movie are also rampant. “Man of Steel” actor Henry Cavill has officially denied his involvement in the film as ‘Jack Hyde,’ but word is being heard about the casting of the beautiful Cara Delevingne as the submissive ‘Leila Williams.’ There are also rumors about Charlize Theron being cast as the sexually experienced ‘Mrs. Robinson’ but for once, the news might be too good to be true.
The film is also going to give more explicit scenes than the first installment, with producers currently looking at an ‘R Rating.’ Fans are also looking forward to an adaptation of EL James’ book “Grey,” which retells the events of the first film from the perpective of Jamie Dornan’s ‘Mr. Grey.’
“Fifty Shades Darker” finally reveals itself to us on premier night on Feb. 10, 2017. It is scheduled to be followed by “Fifty Shades Freed,” based on the third book in the trilogy, in 2018.
